How to Create Visual Assertions

Learn how to use Alt+Click to add powerful visual validations to your journeys.

What are Assertions?

Assertions are the "checks" in your journeys. They verify that the application is in the expected state (e.g., "The Submit button should be visible").

Using Alt+Click

While recording, you can use a powerful shortcut:

  • Hold the Alt (or Option on Mac) key.
  • Click on any element on the page.
  • The recorder will automatically generate a "Should be visible" assertion for that element.

Advanced Assertions

You can also add assertions from the post-recording editor:

  • Exists: Verify element is in DOM.
  • Text Content: Verify element contains specific text.
  • Attribute: Check for classes, IDs, or other attributes.
